Zero-Waste Bliss Balls Recipe

We make these nutritious and delicious bliss balls for our guests to take as an after breakfast treat and energy boost on the go - these balls also use our leftover nut milk pulp so are another zero-waste goodie!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups roasted almonds - roast raw almonds slowly in the oven until golden brown

  • 2 cups dates soaked and strained - keep the date water aside for later

  • 2 cups of coconut & cashew milk pulp - (or 1 cup of dessicated coconut & 1⁄4 cup of cashews blended to a fine flour)

For coating: dessicated coconut, toasted sesame seeds, cacao powder or hemp seeds 

Flavour options: Orange essence & maca powder Cacao powder (approx 1/4 cup to taste) Peppermint essence & cacao nibs Chia seeds, linseed, sunflower seeds, hemp seeds, goji berries Carrot cake - grated carrot plus cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice Let your imagination go wild! Anything goes :) 

Method:

  1. Blend the almonds and dates in a food processor until the mixture starts to come together to form a dough - add some date water if needed.

  2. Add to a bowl and stir in the coconut & cashew pulp and your favourite flavours and extras - add date water as needed for a dough-like consistency.

  3. Roll into balls around 1.5cm diameter.

  4. Finally roll the balls in your choice of coating.

These freeze well and can be popped into lunch boxes for a wonderful healthy treat!
